The Klaserie Drift Safari Camps support the ethos of responsible tourism. The Huysamer-family firmly believes in contributing to, and having a positive impact on, the communities that surround this special and unique environment.

The Klaserie Drift Safari Camp’s owners and management have built strong relationships with the local, non-profit organisation, EcoChildren ,which focuses on conservation education and comprehensive school development in local primary schools.

More recently, Eco Children realised there was a much greater need in the local community and embarked on a number of projects, working more broadly on whole school development with a focus on conservation and sustainability.

For every guest that stays at any one of the Klaserie Drift Safari Camps, a donation is made to Eco Children, contributing to the vital work it does. These funds, together with donations received from guests, are invested in Eco Children’s key programmes, namely:

Support-a-School – transforming dysfunctional schools into educational havens with a strong eco focus, conducive to learning.

Kit-a-Kid – supplying learners with new uniforms, instilling a sense of self-worth and pride.

Capacity Building – improving the quality of teaching by working with educators in Early Childhood Development and Mathematics.

Eco Training – conservation workshops with different eco-based themes for children and adults, teaching them about the special environment in which they live.

Bursaries– providing opportunities for talented learners.

In this way, all Klaserie Drift Safari Camp guests support conservation and community upliftment in the Greater Hoedspruit area.

Please visit the Eco Children Website for more information, and for donations.
