MAKING THE BUSH OUR HOME
The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve was established in 1969 and officially proclaimed a nature reserve in 1972. In 1994 the fences came down between the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, the Kruger National Park and its associated Reserves. The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve comprises of 60 000 hectares of diverse topography and forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. It attracts a vast variety of fauna and flora including the big five.
Formally known as Angela’s, Misava Safari Camp is one of the original and oldest camps in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. It was originally purchased in 1936 by Edwin Crookes and operated as a hunting farm. He renamed it after his daughter Angela. In 1997 it was purchased by the current owner where it started to host local guests as a self catered camp. In 2018 it underwent massive renovations to become the intimate, luxurious camp it is today.
The boutique Amani Safari Camp was acquired in 1990, however in 2012 the camp was completely washed away in the floods. It was since rebuilt and renovated and now offers luxury, exclusive 5 star villa style accommodation.
Our small, close-knit team comprises of 24 committed individuals led by Dawie and Talitha Jansen. Each team member brings their own area of expertise and their dedication is the success behind Klaserie Drift Safari Camps. The combination of all this talent comes together to offer guests a truly memorable 5 star experience.

MAKING THE BUSH OUR HOME
“After making our way to the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve in 2015 from the rushed and busy city life in Gauteng, Dawie, our 2 children, Matthew 5 and Mila 18 months and I feel privileged to have been given the responsibility to manage and call this piece of heaven Our Home.
Having owned and managed our own businesses and taking on the corporate world, we find the stillness and tranquility of life in the bush indescribably peaceful.
Having grown the Klaserie Drift brand from its inception in 2016 to what it is today, we are incredibly proud of everyone involved in the journey. Every day holds new surprises and challenges for us as we grow, from the interesting new people we meet from all over the world to the fantastic and positive team that we are fortunate to work with.
Our piece of Africa has so much to offer and so much to teach, we are happy to just be a part of it all and, best of all, to share its magic.”
